Cholla Wood

The holey and honeycomb structure of the Cholla Wood, which is hollow inside, is an ideal “playground” for shrimp in your aquarium. They prefer to graze on the surface of microorganisms and algae growth and may, if necessary, e.g. to moult, retreat wonderfully inside. The Cholla Wood (Vuka Wood) also looks great in the aquarium and gives the whole aquarium tank a special touch.

Strictly speaking, Cholla is not Wood, but the skeleton of the cereus. Because of its natural and unique structure, it is a brilliant hideout and an optimal retreat for all invertebrates. It is free of any chemicals as well as pesticides and is additionally very rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium. Furthermore, a microbial biofilm is formed over time. Hence, shrimps and crayfish don’t just hide inside the Cholla Wood, but intensely graze the surface time and again. The Cholla Wood is hollow inside and it sinks rapidly to the ground. Moreover, it can get planted with fern, moss or algae and gets more decorative as a result.

Cholla Wood contains tannins that can cause discolouration of the water. To avoid this, please water it for a few days.
